Life with a newborn!

Everyone always says when you have a baby your life changes forever, but I guess you don't really know how much it changes until you experience it. Our lives are much different now but we wouldn't trade it for the world. Tanner has been such a good baby and we could not be happier. We were only in the hospital for 2 days thank goodness! I wasn't sure with the c-section how long we would stay. I was feeling great and we were ready to get out of that place so me and T got the ok to leave on July 4. So we loaded up and headed home! When we got home we were so excited, T slept about 3 hours straight but once he got up it was awful! We had no clue that our first night home would be so bad. :( We had no problems getting him to stop crying in the hospital and it seemed like he never cried unless he wanted something and we always figured it out but not that night! I wanted to cry because I just thought, this is it, this is our life from now on! Once we finally made it through the night I noticed that T did not have a wet diaper and his lips were very chapped. We were supposed to go to the doctor on Friday but we decided we should probably take him on Thursday just to make sure everything was ok. Once we got to the doctor I started thinking, this poor baby is hungry! I left the hospital breast feeding and the only thing I don't like about that is you have no idea how much he is actually eating. He was fine in the hospital but apparently once we got home he wasn't getting enough. Once we got to the doctor, they weighed him and he was only 5lbs 13oz!! Poor baby was 6lbs 10oz when he was born! Dr. Evans told us to go get a pump to see how much we could get. So we leave, Ricky drops us off and runs to Walmart to get a pump and well I pump and nothing is coming out!! At this point I am in panic mode because my baby is starving!!!! Thankfully we had formula that Enfamil has mailed us and thankfully Ricky was smart enough to boil some water to mix it with, I would have never thought about that at this point! Once we finally got T a bottle he went to town! That poor baby was hungry! He passed out immediately :) After that one bottle our normal, happy baby was back! :) Since then I have just been pumping what I can and we mix it with the formula so hes at least getting some breast milk daily. We went back 2 days later to check his weight and he was up 6 ounces!! They were very happy because normally babies gain about 1 ounce a day :) Ricky has been off with us for 3 weeks and he has to go back to work Monday. We are pretty sad, it has been really fun to have 3 weeks together to bond as a family. It's amazing to see how much T changes everyday. I am going to miss him SO much when he has to go to daycare. I have already cried about this several times! I will miss our morning naps that we take together for sure! It is hard to believe that he is already almost 3 weeks old!!! Ok enough says, I am going to cry if I keep going :)
