TANNER IS FINALLY HERE!!
I feel like it has been forever and so much has happened since I updated the blog! Let's see I guess I will start with Tanner deciding to make his way into the world a day early. I thought I was avoiding labor by having a scheduled section but boy was I wrong! I woke up every hour starting at midnight as usual to go to the bathroom then around 4:30 I decided that my normal cramping felt different this time. I started keeping up with how long I was "cramping". Here is my log where I was keeping up!

Ok so I start texting mom about 5 or 5:30 and she says "you are in labor!" I am in denial most of the morning. At 6:30 I wake Ricky up just to let him know I am hurting but not sure what is going on. I had a doctors appointment at 1:00 that day to make sure everything was on for the section on Tuesday the 3rd so I figured when they opened I would just call and see if I could go in early. About 7, I got in the shower and started getting ready. Ricky comes in the bathroom and finds me putting on makeup. He couldn't figure out why I was putting on makeup. I told him it was either my last day out and about to be pregnant or we were having a baby and people were going to be taking pictures! I was the one in pain, let me put my makeup on! :) So we leave and I call to find out the doctor doesn't open til 8:30 so its about 8 now and I say forget that take me to the hospital!! We get there and I am having contractions every 5 minutes on the dot. They check me and I am only 2 cm so they tell us they will get in touch with the doctor and see what she wants to do. My blood pressure was not too high but still as high as it had been lately so at 10:30, after that many hours with no meds and constant contractions, they inform us Dr. Tonkin will be there at noon to do the c-section. Up until this point Ricky had been totally cool, we all know I had been a nervous wreck for a month or longer! Once they tell us that we have to call everyone and Ricky went outside. Once he leaves then I really get nervous and want to cry! I call him and he says he is shaking :) haha It was finally time!! They get me prepped, everyone comes in to explain what all is going to be happening and we get closer and closer to noon. Mom made it there about 11:30 and got to see us before we went in. Dr. Tonkin came in to see me before we went back and asked if I wanted her to check me again, HECK NO! We are still doing the section, take me back and lets do this! :) Ricky had to wait outside until they had me completely ready. I was so nervous about being in there alone but the nurses were great and then the biggest shock was Dr. Gray, the doctor that delivered me 28 years ago, was going to be assisting Dr. Tonkin! I loved it. Everyone couldn't believe that he was there assisting my doctor to help deliver my baby after he delivered me so many years ago. So I get in there and the scariest part was the epidural. I am thinking this is going to hurt, a huge needle going into your back!! I have to keep reminding myself I had a kidney stone though. After they do the epidural I was so relieved that it was nothing!!!! Then you really feel exposed when they put you on the table naked with all those people in the room and put in the catheter and finishing prepping you! No shame after having a baby either way apparently! Then I look over and Rickys in there with me and its time! :) At 12:20 Tanner was born! :) The first thing I ask is, does he have hair??? :) YES! He had tons of hair. He was 6 pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long! Now Ricky leaves to go over and take pictures of T while he is getting cleaned up. They never left the room though so I was good. The anesthesiologist stayed right above my head the whole time and answered any questions I had. I felt very comfortable and it really helped the experience. I starting feeling a little funny in my chest and he gave me something and it went away right then. Other than that I was fine. However, after that I was pretty drugged and the rest is pretty much a blur! :) I have been looking through pictures and not remembering seeing some of the people there or taking certain pictures! :) I was not in pain though! This post is getting pretty long so I will stop here with Tanner making his entrance and follow up with the rest of the hospital stay in my next post! Now the good part :) The pictures!!! :)

Last bump pic!

Right before they took us back...last pic of it just being a family of 2 :)

Obviously I was already drugged or too nervous but don't remember Ricky taking this or many of the following

All clean!!

Right after ... We had an hour in recovery alone before anyone was allowed in

First family of 3 picture :) That I don't remember taking!!

Ricky changed all the diapers in the hospital I am pretty sure!

Best daddy ever :)

T was born on a full moon!! :) Our family loves a good moon!! I LOVE this! :)
