Week 15

I think this is the cutest thing ever. :) I love to keep up with this every week. So this week Baby M will be the size of an orange. Baby M is growing like crazy.

I want Baby M to be a girl so bad! After everything I have gone through so far, I do believe that Baby M should be a girl and I should get what I want! :) If only it really worked that way. On the other hand Ricky is wanting Baby M to be a boy!

Poor Ricky! At this point I guess he should be able to get what he wants too because he has been having to wait on me hand and foot. I am so thankful for him right now! He is on vacation next week and was planning on going camping and fishing for a few days. Now he is stuck here with me. I think both of us will be going insane by the end of next week. We will both need a break and some time for ourselves! I need a pedicure and he needs to go fish! :) And no he does not mind that its freezing outside. He just likes to go be by the water. He doesn't even care if he actually catches anything, it's just his way of relaxing.

Oh yea...the doctor says by the time I come back on the 27th I need to have gained at least 10 pounds since I have not gained any, just lost 5. Eating was not a problem before pregnancy, now it is like a chore.

Second Trimester!

I am finally up to date! After having a not so fun first trimester, I have been looking forward to the second trimester that I keep hearing is so fun! Well, of course it wouldn't be that easy for me to switch over! We had to go to the ER on January 5. After 5 hours of being in the ER we were discharged and told that I have placenta previa and that I was to be on bed rest until I could see my doctor on the following day. The next day I went in and my doctor said that everything looked okay the placenta was just low and I would need to take it easy, just no lifting, exercising, but I could still work and continue with normal life. And then on the following Monday I had to call my doctors again. Placenta previa can cause bleeding and that is the scary part! I went in and saw the doctor on call on Tuesday and I have now been on bed rest since then!! Of all the things I thought about dealing with during pregnancy I never thought that bed rest would be one of them! It has been very hard. I can get up and let the dogs out, eat, and go to the bathroom but that's about it. The majority of my days are spent lying here in bed. I have to be on bed rest for at least 2 weeks to make sure that the placenta stops bleeding and that I keep myself and Baby M healthy and safe. So while I am complaining that my body hurts from laying down all day, I have to keep reminding myself that there is a good reason that I am stuck here! The doctor is 90% sure that as the uterus grows the placenta will expand and move and everything should be fine. We have more ultrasound pictures that I will post soon! :)

First DR appointments

We found out about Baby M at just 4 weeks so our first appointment to make it all official was on November 4. We found out Baby M is due around July 8, 2012, had some blood work done and had the first official ultrasound. Nothing there but a little pocket at this point. And of course no heartbeat at this time. I went for my next appointment 2 weeks later on 11.16.11. This time I got to hear the heartbeat!!! It was amazing!! I didn't even know I was going to hear it and then it was just there, totally caught me off guard! The heart rate was 118. Our next appointment was on 12.7.11 and Ricky went with me for this one. This was the first time he got to hear the heartbeat and we actually could see the baby moving around. That was pretty neat also. It was amazing to see how much that little pocket had grown since the first visit and how there is a baby in there now!! (Still getting used to this!) At this point I was almost 10 weeks and we got an ultrasound picture so we were ready to get the word out there!
This is Baby M's first official picture!! :) Now between weeks 4 and 10 I had every issue under the sun you could think of! Absolutely no morning sickness at all! But I am beginning to think that throwing up all day would have been better than all the problems I had going on. At about 8 or 9 weeks I started feeling sick constantly and nothing sounded good to eat at all! No fun!! Also at the end of 10 weeks I had been to the doctor 5 times and had 5 ultrasounds. I am not sure that anyone can break my record of seeing the doctor that many times in 6 weeks. Haha I am not complaining because each time I got to see our precious baby and hear the heartbeat.

11.1.11

Now to the main reason of this blog! We have been trying for a baby since July so I was taking monthly pregnancy tests just to make sure. When we got back from vacation we were trying to get everything back to normal and get back into the real world routine so I didn't even think about taking a pregnancy test. Finally on November 1, I decided I should probably take one and I did! :) I came out of the bathroom holding a test strip and looked at Ricky. I said I don't know if this other line is supposed to be here or not but it never has been before. So I then go and take another pregnancy test but one of the better ones that have a plus sign. Well, a plus sign came up immediately. After taking 2 more I decided that these things usually don't lie when they are positive!! Ricky remains totally calm and acts like its no big deal. He has been more ready than I was so I was a little frustrated with him at the time. We could not keep this a secret at all. The very next day we told both of our parents. This is when I find out that he was so excited when I came in with the tests he just was playing cool. He told me that in his head he was saying "YES!" :) And this little plus sign begins the next journey of our lives!! :)
I love special number dates! We were married on 10.1.10 and we found out about Baby M on 11.1.11 ... pretty cool huh :)

10.1.11

Ricky and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on October 1. We made it through 1 year of marriage!! :) At the end of the month we went to the Smoky Mountains and had a great time! It was so beautiful there!! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

These were taken in the Foothills Parkway...

Here are several taken in the Great Smoky Mountains National Forrest and Cades Cove...

 We even saw a bear!!!

This is pretty sad. The trees that have been eaten away by acid rain. This whole section was like this. Amazing what we do to the world...

The trees were so pretty, we were there at the perfect time!

We also had our cake topper while we were here. I was very surprised, after a year in the freezer, it was delicious!!!

So I love the Smoky Mountains and I can't wait to go back!!!
